Description
Silver Perch have proven most popular in Aquaponics but also do great in farm dams due to them feeding on weeds, algae and small insects. Sadly, their numbers are diminishing in the river system due to pest fish like carp damaging their habitat.
Silver Perch can produce up to 100,000 eggs per kilo of their size. They are the 3rd healthiest fish to eat in Australia, benefiting us with their high content of Omega 3.
When you receive your fingerlings open the foam box and remove the heavy duty plastic bag containing the fish, do not untie the bag until you are ready to release them. Float the bag on the top of the pond/tank water for approx 10 mins or until the water inside is about the same temperature.
Open the plastic bag by untying or cutting it carefully. Gradually mix the pond/tank water with the bag water until the bag is full, tip the bag into your pond or tank and the fingerlings will soon swim out into their new home.
